Tom Yum

A traditional Thai hot and sour soup that is zesty and packed with flavors. The word “Tom” refers to boiling and “Yum,” meaning a mixture of ingredients. 

Ingredients:

  • 6oz Chicken Breast
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • ½ of a tomato 
  • 4oz Mushrooms
  • 2 sticks of Lemongrass
  • 2-3 Dried Galangal 
  • 3 tbsp Chili Paste 
  • 3 tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 tsp Tamarind Soup Mix
  • 3 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cilantro and Chives
  • 4-5 Kaffir Lime Leaves

 

How to Make:

  1. Add chicken broth to a medium-size pot and boil it on medium heat
  2. Smashed the lemongrass and tie it together then add it to your chicken broth
  3. Add dried galangal and boil it for about 5 minutes 
  4. Take out the lemongrass from soup
  5. Add chicken and let it come to a boil
  6. Add tomatoes and mushrooms
  7. Add chili paste, fish sauce, tamarind soup mix, lime juice, and sugar
  8. Bring to a boil
  9. Add cilantro, chives, and kaffir lime leaves
  10. Serve
